Loaves and Fishes

"Taking the five loaves and the two fish and looking up to heaven, he gave thanks and broke the loaves. Then he gave them to his disciples to set before the people. He also divided the two fish among them all. They all ate and were satisfied, and the disciples picked up twelve basketfuls of broken pieces of bread and fish. The number of the men who had eaten was five thousand." Matthew 6:41-44

"Let any man turn to God in earnest, let him begin to exercise himself unto godliness, let him seek to develop his powers of spiritual receptivity by trust and obedience and humility, and the results will exceed anything he may have hoped."- Aiden Wilson Tozer

And I heard the voice of the Lord saying, "Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?" Then I said, "Here am I! Send me." -Isaiah 6:8

I ask God everyday, "What is Your will for my life?' Knowing full well that I will not be receiving a defined and clearly set out answer at this point. It does not stop me from asking though.

I know that I am called to go. I honestly take to heart the call of the Great Commission.
I believe that we are all called to make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Holy Spirit, and teaching them all that He has commanded us. However, going beyond my comfort zone and into nations who do not so much as speak the same language as me, completely terrifies me.

After speaking my feelings aloud, it became clear to me just how silly my fears are. God has a specific plan for each and every one of our lives and if I am called to go beyond my comfort zone, who am I to ignore that call? We all know what happened to Jonah and I personally do NOT want to spend time in the belly of a whale.

Then to confirm this, I spoke with my dad. He told me of an experience he was having with obedience and how he knew what he had to do but it was only a matter of doing it. Then he said to me, "Ashley, being obedient is the most exhilarating and fulfilling experience a person can have."

Once we open our ears, eyes, and heart to the things that God is telling us and showing us; His will will be revealed.
